We have a combination ticket offer – you can go to Alcatraz and ride the Magic Bus. We call it,
The ROCK and ROLL Tour
Many tour companies offer combination tickets which include their tour and the Alcatraz Cellhouse tour but none of them were instrumental in creating the Alcatraz Cellhouse Tour
Creating the Alcatraz Cellhouse Tour
In 1987 artist Chris Hardman created the ever popular Alcatraz Cellhouse tour for the National Park Service. It was the first and only audio tour to be made entirely from interviews of guards and inmates who served on Alcatraz. No extraneous voices were added. Visitors find the Alcatraz audio tour particularly compelling because of the haunting voices telling their stories in their own words. Creating the Magic Bus Experience
Also considered innovative is Chris Hardman’s invention- the Magic Bus. The Magic Bus is a real bus that travels around San Francisco with a full sound system and mini video projectors. At times projector screens cover the window turning the bus into a moving movie theater filled with light shows and trippy LSD imagery (and more). The Magic Bus tells the story of the Summer of Love in San Francisco while traveling around the city from North Beach (the Beat Scene) to Haight Ashbury and Golden Gate Park ( the Hippie scene).
Now you can voyage to the Rock and walk through the halls of a dank cold prison, then hop onboard a multi-colored bus to Haight Asbury and the Summer of Love with its vision of peace, unity, community and universal tranquility.
We only have 12 tickets for The Rock and Roll Tour available for Fridays and Saturdays. Chances are they will sell out quickly.
If they are all purchased, we are sorry but would like to suggest you take a ride on our Magic Bus and experience the high side of San Francisco instead of the low.
