Antenna Theater, a San Rafael, nonprofit founded over thirty years ago, is interviewing for intern positions for the Fall and Winter of 2015-16. These positions are open to all college students and recent college graduates.
ECOlogical Calendar – Research/Social Media Internship
Interns work with artistic director, Chris Hardman on the ECOlogical Calendar and related projects. Each Project Intern should have a passion for the arts and the environment, effective writing and clear communication skills, plus proficiency in standard computer software (Word, Excel and internet research). Each intern will research facts about the natural world and edit text. Interns will also manage social media accounts for ECOlogical Calendar on Facebook, Twitter, etc. Duties will include writing creative blog articles each week, and periodically promote the calendar online.
Interns may also be asked to assist on other Antenna productions, and special events.
MAGIC BUS – Marketing and Promotions Internship
Position will focus on promotions, marketing and outreach for Antenna’s ongoing theatrical production, Magic Bus, and other projects as needed.
Under theater administrators, duties include managing social media accounts (Facebook & Twitter), writing and editing blog posts, handling customer service calls and emails (including reservations), ensuring accurate and widespread listings with online event calendars and newspapers, and tracking outreach efforts.
Interns will learn the basics of managing a small theater company and, if interested, how to write grants for nonprofits.
Excellent written and oral communications skills (in English) are essential, as well as a confident and enthusiastic attitude. Position requires high attention to detail. Familiarity with the use of Google Docs, WordPress, Adobe, and Microsoft Office suite are required. Web coding experience a plus, as well as experience with Photoshop or InDesign.
Time Commitment All interns are expected to work with artistic director, Chris Hardman, or managing director, Annette Rose for 15 hours each week for a minimum of three months. We are flexible as to the exact dates and will accommodate varying schedules.
Current college students should contact their institution about receiving credit for their internship.
You will also have the opportunity to work part-time paid positions at Antenna as needed.
